Algeria is the economic powerhouse on the African continent. Imports have increased from US$ 38.9 billion in 2010 to US$ 54.9 billion in 2013.
Exhibitors of plast alger 2016 will profit from the third massive investment program worth US$ 260 billion between 2015 and 2019, which targets to develop the country’s infrastructure and to improve the living conditions for the Algerians.
Money from the oil and gas business is abundant. According to GTAI-Germany Trade & Invest the country currently has foreign exchange reserves of more than US $ 200 billion and exports oil and gas worth 65 billion US $ annually.

According to figures of VDMA-the German Engineering Association, Algeria has raised its imports of plastics technology from 60.3 million US$ in 2010 to 131.1 million US$ in 2013, a plus of 117% within just four years. China, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Austria, Spain and Turkey are the main supplier countries.
Algerian imports of packaging machinery and equipment went up from 140.1 million US$ in 2010 to 301.3 million US$ in 2013 (+115.1%). Italy, Germany, France, Spain, China and Turkey are the main supplier countries.
